JOB OFFER: JAVA DEVELOPER - Cloud Solutions for the Internet of Things Within CREATE-NET (Center for REsearch And Telecommunication Experimentation for Networked communities) Research Center the focus of Open IOT Unit is to lead research, development and experimentation on cutting-edge infrastructures, technologies and platforms for the Internet of Things to support the creation of innovative and interoperable IoT-based solutions.  
CREATE-NET is seeking a highly motivated Java Application Developer willing to join a dynamic interdisciplinary research group to work in close collaboration with skilled software developers in the development and integration of cloud solutions for the Internet of Things.Focus of activities will be on the realization of two industrial software solutions for personal health and wellbeing, through the development and integration of state-of-the-art software technologies for cloud solutions specialized for IoT applications. Successful candidates must be highly self-motivated individuals, who seek to establish a dynamic and creative team environment combining modern creative and innovative approaches. Required: 

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related disciplines
  • Fundamental understanding of SOA architectures and RESTFul web-services
  • Java
  • RDBMS and NoSQL
  • Autonomous thinking and problem solving skills;
  • Teamwork approach, good communication and relational skills
  • Oral and written fluency in English


  • Master degree in Computer Science or related disciplines
  • HTML & CSS, javascript
  • PHP, Node.js
  • Experience in developing multi-tenant SaaS
  • Spring
  • Proficient with Linux and Docker
  • Unit Testing
  • Familiarity with ElasticSearch, Logstash and Kibana
  • Javascript frontend (for example one of React, Aurelia, Vue, Angular)
  • Love to learn new technology
  • Technical project management expertise
  • Prioritization, time management skills and capability to adapt to dynamic environments
